Scheduling Process ● Teachers update course descriptions for all classes and document posted for all students to review ● Students presented information about scheduling options and make initial schedule requests via PowerSchool ● Mrs. Davidson builds a schedule for each student ● Students are able to review schedules via PowerSchool before end of school year ○ Parents also have access to view student schedule via PowerSchool ● Schedule changes and adjustments are made throughout the summer

The focus is to pay attention to your strengths, skills and abilities to choose a career that will be rewarding and successful. Career Planning- 9 th and 10 th grade Smart Futures ● Web based career exploration platform that meets all CEW State Standards. ○ Business Presentations and Communications ● Requirement for 9th grade curriculum. Career exploration topics are included in coursework. ○ English 9 ● Career Research paper and Career Fair to display projects ○ Career Day ● ○ Yearly Career Day with presenters from our local community sharing first hand career information STEM Summit ● All 9th grade students attend a STEM Summit at East Pennsboro HS presented by Junior ○ Achievement Vo-tech visit ● All 8th graders and interested 9th graders attend vo-tech for a visit ○ PCD Regional Career Fair ● All 10th grade students will attend this career fair in Harrisburg ○

Career Planning- 11 th and 12 th grade Future Readiness ● Required 11th grade class for all students ○ Graduation Project ● ○ Successful completion required for graduation Includes resume, cover letter, completing job application and participating in a mock interview. ○ Smart Futures ● Web based career exploration platform that meets all CEW State Standards. ○ Reality Fair ● Presented by BELCO Credit Union for all students in grades 11 and 12. ○ Career Day ● Yearly Career Day with presenters from our local community sharing first hand career information ○ ASVAB ● ● Used as a career exploration tool for students based off the Holland Code Self Assessment.

Vo-Tech Information ● www.cpavts.org ● Visit this website to take virtual tours of the vo-tech campus and individual shops. ● All 8th grade students attend a visit and tour of vo-tech ● Students apply during 9th grade school year (before Christmas break) ● Online application, 2 teacher recommendations, attendance information, GPA ● Attend grades 10- 12, ½ days in the afternoon. Academic classes taken at Greenwood periods 1-4. Shop class and History taken at Vo-tech. ● Students attend vo-tech for free ● Industry certificates will be earned through successful completion of coursework and shop task lists.
