Grades/Report Cards

 Questions about “NG” on your report card.

 This means you passed the class but did not receive

credit because you had too many absences.

 Right now the only way to get credit for these classes is

to retake the class in summer school or next year.

 Credit Attempted – this is how many classes you were

  • taking. For most of you this is 4.

 Credit Earned – this is the actual number of credits

you earned.

 You can earn a total of 8 credits a year.

determines what classes you take next year.

 You can take classes in summer school to make up for

lost credit.

Attendance Policies

 Truancy Officers: Mr. Zeno and Mrs. Ugalde  You are tardy if you are not IN YOUR CLASSROOM

when the bell rings @ 8:25 A.M. or when the tardy bell rings each period

 If you miss more than 30 minutes of a class, regardless of

the reason, you are absent.

 MUST turn in a note to the attendance office within 3 days

after absence

 Truancy can and will be filed after three absences.  You will lose credit for a class after 4 unexcused absences.

 You will then have to retake the class the following year.

Other issues/discipline

  • Tardies/skipping class will not be tolerated.
  • We are conducting random hall sweeps during the day.
  • The office does not issue passes if students are late. Just

go to class and sign in with your teacher.

  • This is one of the biggest reasons for students not

earning credit for a class.

slide-14
SLIDE 14

Other issues/discipline (cont.)

  • Behavior in the classroom.
  • We expect students to act accordingly in the

classroom, regardless if your teacher is there or it is a substitute teacher.

  • Leaving campus is not allowed.
  • ID’s must be worn at all times.
  • If students need a temporary ID, They must get it

before 5th/6th period. We will not issue temporary ID’s once lunch starts.

slide-15
SLIDE 15

Other issues/discipline (cont.)

  • Cell phone/electronics policy.

  • If any staff member asks for your electronic device, you are

required to give it to them.
