Creation in Genesis 1:31-2:3

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning-the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created.

WE REST TO ENJOY GOD’S CREATION… IT’S GOODNESS AND IT’S BEAUTY REFLECTING ON THE BLESSINGS IN OUR LIVES. AN ACT OF WORSHIP TO GOD.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

WE REST BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN MADE FREE AND ARE NO LONGER SLAVES. If you can’t rest you’re a slave. Always too busy you’re a slave. Don’t be a slave to work or anything else.
