Parachute technology applied to dedicated pack housings for life rafts Emergency Pack 147 The challenges: • Only space available were by the shoulder and above head of crew • Valise had to have a permanent shape • Lower angle had to be between 60-70 degrees.
Parachute technology applied to dedicated pack housings for life rafts Emergency Pack 147 • Should be easy to handle during overhaul and repacking. • Should not require too much force to release or inflate the life raft, but it’s equally important that it doesn’t inflate by accident. • The inflating line needs to have the shortest way possible inside the valise to prevent tangle. • Should be crash safe.
