HRET HIIN SSI CHANGE PACKAGE TIMELINE OF IMPLEMENTATION

AUG 2015:

  • Developed and followed standardized order sets for each surgical

procedure to include antibiotic name, timing of administration, weight based dose, re dosing and discontinuation. JAN 2016:

  • Develop and implemented protocol to optimize glucose control in ALL

surgical patients. Perioperative Glucose Control, monitor all surgical patients for hyperglycemia both pre-operative and post-operative. MAR 2016:

  • Ensured pre-operative skin antisepsis. All patients using 2% chlorhexidine

gluconate body wipes. JAN 2017:

  • Use of the XENEX robot for infra-red cleaning and black light spot checks

after cleaning in the OR. January 2017
