  5. What We Heard: Meeting 1 Comment Parking garage occupancy is low and has decreased significantly. The garages are not well utilized. The parking occupancy maps don't distinguish between RPP and non-RPP/metered and non-metered spaces Does the City have density and vehicle ownership data? Why is our trigger about overall occupancy at 85%? How many on-street spots/off-street spots are there per district? There's no garage/surface lot east of West Street Waterfront development has caused a net decrease in the number of parking spaces east of Lee Street as demand increases. What's going to be the long term impact of development? Why doesn't Alexandria have Parkmobile? Could software accept Parkmobile in addition to Pango? Does the City have data on parking spaces removed? What kind of residential parking restrictions does Georgetown have? Should metered parking vary by context? Does meter revenue cover enforcement costs? How does meter revenue compare to revenue from enforcement? Can we get info on sales tax information for the study area? What percentage of on-street and off-street parking spaces are occupied after 7 pm -- east and west of Alfred Street? What's the status of the 100 block metering north and south of King Street? We need to make the distinction between single space and multispace meters. What's the future of single space meters? What is the future of food trucks and what are their effects on parking in Old Town? A lot of businesses have customers who require greater than 3 hour appointments. We have to address the future crunch on parking with waterfront development. How does employee parking fit into this discussion? Do we have the total number of employees in the study area? In general, things have stayed mostly the same in 2009 and 2014. How do we correctly structure parking as a hierarchy of behaviors? What behaviors do we want? The data needs to make the distinction between metered and non-metered parking. Do we have data on ZipCar? Parking wayfinding is key. What are the future plans for wayfinding in Old Town? What's the status of the signs that indicate the number of spaces available in garages? Baltimore does a good job of directing you to garages. We should look at what they do? What are the implementable steps for the OTAPS recommendations? 5
