Heart Services at OVH
Upgraded cath lab in 2018. Advanced technology and high resolution images aid in cardiac diagnoses. Physicians can also perform peripheral vascular procedures, allowing them to clear blocked arteries in the arms and legs.
Cardiac catheterization used to diagnose and treat heart disease with a minimally invasive , interventional technique requiring a tiny incision where the catheter is inserted into an artery. It results in less blood loss, less pain and a quicker recovery for patients than an open procedure.
Diagnostic angiogram examines the inside of arteries and veins to detect blockages or narrowing of the vessels. It measures blood pressure, blood flow and oxygen levels, evaluates the heart's pumping ability and the health of the valves.
