n PEACE OF MIND – The student will receive

an e-mail immediately confirming that the application has been received. No worrying about lost paper applications.

enrolled until the signature page & income documents have been received and processed.

Application Requirements

n Student must currently be attending the 8th, 9th or

10th grade

n Student’s family household income must be $55,000

(adjusted gross income) or less (there is a 2nd income limit check when the students starts college)

n Must be an Oklahoma resident

n Deadline for the 2017-2018 school year:

July 2, 2018

Homeschool Students

n Eligible to participate in the program n Must apply between the ages of 13-15 n In addition to the meeting the regular

requirements of the program, must achieve at least a 22 composite score

Students

Foster Care

n Students in DHS custody should contact DHS

for an OKPromise application at 405.522.3945. Legal Guardian

n Documentation issued by a court of law

authorizing legal guardianship is required

n No proof of income at the time of application

Adopted Students Expanded Income Eligibility

n Applies only to students adopted while:

n in the permanent custody of Oklahoma DHS; or n in the court-ordered custody of a licensed, private,

non-profit child-placing agency; or

n in the court-ordered custody of a federally

recognized Indian tribe.

n No income limit at the time of application

(Proof of legal adoption is required)

n 2nd income limit levels

n Birth to age 12 - $150,000 n Ages 13-17 - $200,000

Benefits

n Pays tuition only (fees are not included) at an

Oklahoma public college or university; a portion of tuition at an Oklahoma private college or university or qualified career technology programs

n Pays for the actual hours enrolled;

recommend full-time enrollment

n May be used until the completion of a

bachelor’s degree or five consecutive years, whichever comes first

n Only specific math courses will count –

Intermediate Algebra and Math of Finance WILL NOT count!

n Use caution in the History/Citizenship

the student’s transcript) AND the 17-unit core GPA (calculated separately)

Second Income Limit

n Prior to receiving any program benefit in college or

career education, the federal adjusted gross income (AGI) of the student’s parents may not exceed $100,000

n Students must file the FAFSA each year in college or

career education

n For any year that the income exceeds $100K, the

student will not be eligible to receive OKPromise.

n Students can go in and out of eligibility

Federal SAP Standards

n SAP = Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by

the college in which they are enrolled

n Applies to ALL OKPromise college students whether

they are receiving federal aid or not

n Contains both GPA rqmts and minimum standards

for completing courses in which the student enrolls

n ***Any OKPromise student on financial aid

suspension for failure to meet SAP, will not be eligible to receive the OKPromise award***

Other Issues

n Students must graduate from high school to be

eligible for OKPromise (not available for concurrent enrollment)

n Meeting Regular College Admission Requirements

n OKPromise students must meet the regular

admission requirements at the institution in which they enroll in order to be eligible for the OKPromise scholarship.
