Nearly one in three kids in America grows up in a home impacted by substance use. For children who grow up with substance use in their family, the very place where they should feel safe and protected—home—becomes an unpredictable environment filled with erratic behavior, conflict and broken promises. Growing up in these conditions can have a profound psychological impact on kids.
