  6. Redeveloping Port Pirie for a Sustainable future Fundamentally different business model for Port Pirie; transformed operation capable of processing a wider range of high margin metal bearing feed materials PRIMARY LEAD SMELTER POLY-METALLIC PROCESSING & RECOVERY CENTRE Nyrstar Zinc 3 rd party lead Smelters 3 rd party lead Hobart smelter Third party concentrates residues residue residues concentrates PORT PIRIE PORT PIRIE Other Other material material Complex waste streams Nyrstar mine Nyrstar produced feed materials E-waste concentrates Third party produced feed materials ABILITY TO PROCESS ALL INTERNALLY GENERATED RESIDUES, ALLOWING NYRSTAR TO CONTROL APPROXIMATELY 50% OF FEED MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS, DRIVES FINANCIAL RETURNS AND SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES SUPPLY RISK 6

  7. Redeveloping Port Pirie for a Sustainable future Using best available and proven technology currently in operation at over 25 sites EBS Oxidation Furnace (Top  Transformation will replace out-dated Submerged Lance) sinter plant with a state of the art oxygen enriched enclosed bath smelting furnace technology and new sulphuric acid plant.  Technology is proven; same class of core technology utilised at over 25 sites.  Independent of the Transformation, Nyrstar is investigating the feasibility of a series of small incremental investments to capture additional metal streams. 7

  8. Redeveloping Port Pirie for a Sustainable future The application of fully enclosed bath smelting technology has a range of environmental benefits  Step change reduction in airborne metal, dust and sulphur dioxide emissions  Significant reduction in community lead exposure risks  Reduced intermediate materials movements on-site and therefore reduce on-site dust generation and movement  Improved Blast Furnace environmental performance  Improved hygiene conditions for workers EXPECTED TO DELIVER A SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE THROUGH REDUCED EMISSIONS 8

  9. Redeveloping Port Pirie for a Sustainable future Continued support for community exposure reduction programs Nyrstar • AUD $5M initiation investment • AUD $3Mpa for up to 10 years SA Government • AUD $1.5Mpa for up to 10 years A NEW TARGETED LEAD ABATEMENT PROGRAM WILL INITIATE AND MANAGE COMMUNITY LEAD EXPOSURE REDUCTION INITIATIVES 9
