What does plural mean? Plural means there is more than one of something.

Plurals

When there is just one object, we call that singular. When there is more than one object, we call that plural. Singular Plural 1 fox 2 foxes

Plurals

Often, we just add an ‘s’ to the end of a word to show that there is more than one of something, but for some words we add ‘es’ instead. We add ‘es’ to the end of words that end in a ‘hiss’ sound – words like box and bus. 2 boxes 3 buses
