Building links in 2008

Appoint a Youth Champion

  • An agreed role, written into the Compact Agreement to advocate the

voice of young people and represent their views at Council meetings.

  • A good, physical link between the District Council and Youth Council
  • Up to three nominated Councillors who wish to carry out this role will

be interviewed for selection

  • Proposed date for selection – Thursday 7th February 2008 6-9pm

(flexible date) Undertake the ‘political speed dating’ Workshop

  • Hands on way for Youth Council members to meet District

Councillors and vice versa

  • Opportunity to discuss issues directly which are of importance to

young people and Youth Councillors

  • Proposed date for workshop – Tuesday 18th March 2008 5:45pm –

6:15pm prior to the Full Council meeting at 6:30
