Students will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Sports performance; which includes past achievements in sport, skills and fitness tests

specific to their nominated sport, current level of competition, video evidence by request, and referee evaluation.

  • Achievement & ATL Grades in PHE
  • Service to Sport and School Community: Level of involvement in activities occurring at

the school and possibly the wider community. Examples include coaching, assisting and/or organising sporting and community service activities

  • Interview by PHE Dept including Portfolio evaluation
  • * To be considered for a scholarship, applicants need to be competing in their chosen

sport at a very high level and it must be a sport that RCHK participates in. *

  • **Academic Standard

MYP: A minimum score of 40 4056 DP: A minimum score of 30 3042

  • Expectations of Sports Scholarship Students
  • Involvement in Co-Curricular program, high level of participation and leadership in

their chosen sport in ISSFHK, HKSSSF, ESF and ACAMIS leagues where applicable

  • Mentoring/Coaching Students
  • Promoting and contributing to the development of Sport at the College through C&S

and CAS commitments

  • Commitment to ongoing development of their sport specific skills in and outside of

School

  • Sports Scholarships will only be open to year 10-13 students given the commitments

and responsibilities associated with the role, especially promotion and development of sport at the College.

Sports Scholarships – Process of Application

  • Internal Candidates:

s: 1. Make an appointment to see Head of PHE / AD to discuss suitability 2. Complete paperwork for the application and submit by the deadline 3. Attend and complete fitness tests & submit video evidence of performance on USB 4. Shortlisted candidates invited for an interview. Prepare and present a portfolio at the interview. 5. Notification of outcome within 5 school days of interview. 6. Successful candidates called for final interview with Ms Shen and parents Ext xternal Candidates: s: 1.
