BTEC Nationals redevelopment – your opinions please!

  • Do the existing core units cover the fundamental core content for an engineering

qualification at Level 3 (typically studied full-time by 16-18 year olds?)

  • Have we included sufficient mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding within

the qualification?

  • Are there obvious content areas missing from the existing qualification (typically

studied full-time by 16-18 year olds?)

  • Are there new developments in our sector that are not currently reflected in the

existing qualification?

  • Are there any content areas which are now out of date and not appropriate within

the qualification?

  • What specialist pathways should we recognise within the qualification and why?
