BTEC Nationals update
- Ongoing consultation with providers, employers and HE for revision
and updating of BTEC Nationals in Engineering. (First teaching in September 2015)
- Your involvement in the revision process and your feedback
would be highly welcome!
- We are now in the process of seeking extensions to the
accreditation of the current BTEC First and Nationals (QCF)
BTEC Nationals redevelopment – your opinions please!
- Do the existing core units cover the fundamental core content for an engineering
qualification at Level 3 (typically studied full-time by 16-18 year olds?)
- Have we included sufficient mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding within
the qualification?
- Are there obvious content areas missing from the existing qualification (typically
studied full-time by 16-18 year olds?)
- Are there new developments in our sector that are not currently reflected in the
existing qualification?
- Are there any content areas which are now out of date and not appropriate within
the qualification?
- What specialist pathways should we recognise within the qualification and why?
