(FF) taking part in reviews

  • Representation from both on our Advisory Group
  • April 2018 – the Networks first event on patient involvement in

secure services

  • Involving PR & FF in leadership roles e.g. chairing events

Life’s Journey

  • Family member is a long term patient in secure services for 16+

years

  • Moved across six different services from MSU/LSU
  • Came into forensic services via prison after being diagnosed

with Personality Disorder

Things are improving in involving Family & Friends as in the last 5 years I personally have:

  • Received a copy of my sisters care plan for the first time
  • Attended and contributed to CPA meetings, first tier tribunals

and ward rounds

  • Visited her ward environment
  • Become more knowledgeable about her condition
  • Developed good working relationships with her MDT
