NA61 PSD. Motivation. Projectile Spectator Detector (PSD) gives a very important informations:

  • reaction plane orientation

NA61 PSD. Calibration. NA61 PSD was calibrated during 27 October – 3 November on SPS beam:

  • muon + hadron beam centred on each of 44 modules for precise muon calibration

and hadron energy reconstruction tests

  • beam momentum scan (13, 20, 31, 40, 60, 80, 120 and 158 GeV/c) for fine tuning
  • f PSD response and check linearity and hadronic energy resolution
  • 44 module scan with reduced HV on MAPD to increase the dynamic range of MAPD

for using PSD at high nucleus-nucleus collisions perfect MIP-like signal visible! 5
