What is it all about? Joint master’s degree in Statistics and Applied and Computa- tional Mathematics Aims to give graduates sought-after skills in Data Analytics industries Also, aims to give graduates skills that can be used in aca- demic research (e.g. Ph.D.), either in Statistics or Applied and Computational Mathematics
It is not computer science... The programme is heavily focused on computational science (i.e. algorithms, scientific computing, parallel computing for simulation, and mathematical modelling) and statistics (both theoretical and computational).

FAQs ICHEC modules are given in blocks outside of regular semester times. Last year – Blocks in January and March and then again in June and July. Expect the same this year – will confirm dates shortly. Important for booking holidays and getting time off work . Choose option streams based on your likes and interests, but remember, STAT40660 is mandatory for those without a semester-long module in Probability AND a semester-long module in Inferential Statistics
Option modules, third semester For the third semester (summer), students choose between a 30-credit re- search dissertation and further taught modules and project work.

If you are having academic difficulties with any of the modules it is also best to grapple with these as soon as possible, on the basis of subsidiarity – lecturer, module coordinator, programme director.
