About Mrs. Griffith:

• Graduated from Samford University with a B.S. in Secondary Education
• Graduated from UAB with a Master’s Degree in E.S.L.
• This will be my 16th year at TMS and 17th year teaching
• I am married and have two sons

8th Grade History Goals:

• Apply the elements of geography within an historical context.
• Develop the ability to think chronologically.
• Understand contemporary events and relate them to the past.
• Understand the importance of technological changes that have shaped

modern society. 8th Grade History Topics:

Class Rules and Discipline Class Rules

• Be a responsible student.
• Be courteous to others.
• Take pride in TMS.
• Follow all TMS and ACS rules.

If students choose to disregard these rules, then they should be prepared to accept the consequences, which may include the following:

• Warning (verbal or written)
• Silent Lunch or Reflective Writing
• Parent/guardian(s) phoned or e-mailed
• Parent Conference/student conference
• Office referral

Student Supplies:

• Binder with dividers
• Writing Utensil
• Paper
• Colored pencils
• Textbook (will need daily in class - PDF version in Google Classroom is

available for home)

• Charged chromebook (once issued by ACS)

Recorded Grades in INow:

• “0.50” indicates make-up work
• “0” indicates assignment was not completed, turned in, or turned in
