BEDS Day (October 4, 2017) rosters should be used for
reporting the number of students in your class
Use the roster number when reporting Registration. Do
not use the number of students that attended that day,
Report each assignment separately, do not combine
totals

Report all classes taught on BEDS Day (October 4, 2017) first;
With the remaining assignments, report additional classes taught on A, B, C, D, etc. days that are taught to different groups of students during the Fall Semester, and be sure to report each unique assignment code;
Do not report labs if you teach both lecture and lab to the same group of students.

12/5/2017 21 BEDS ePMF & CTLE
This example shows a teacher that taught only Grades 1, 2, and 3 classes on BEDS day. Additional entries added to capture grades K, 4 and 5.
Report all classes taught on BEDS Day (October 4, 2017) first;
With the remaining assignments, report as many classes as possible capturing the various grade levels and be sure to report each unique assignment code and grade level combination;
Do not combine classes and student registration numbers. You must report each class separately showing the appropriate number of students in each class;
For instrumental/music lesson groups, report the instrumental/music lessons that you had on BEDS day.
For Registration, Special Education Teachers should report only the number of Students with Disabilities in the class being taught
Special Education Teachers must use the 7000 series codes for Special Education classes, and should not use the General Education code numbers. For example, 7730 – MATH 7 or 8 (SPEC ED), should be used instead of 4114 – Math 7 for a seventh grade Special Ed Math class.
The full list of Special Education codes can be found on page 7 of the Assignment Code for Teachers document that is listed on our website
If an appropriate secondary Special Education course code cannot be found in the list, an “other” code should be used. 7798 – OTHER SPECIAL CLASS (SPEC ED) 7-12 can be used when an assignment code under a specific subject area cannot be found;
Consultant Teachers and Inclusion Teachers should use either code 7731 – CONSULTANT TEACHER-ELEM K-6 or 7732 – CONSULTANT TEACHER SEC 7-12.
12/5/2017 22 BEDS ePMF & CTLE
