LETS PLAN AN EVENT TOGETHER

Scenario: This is the first meeting of a new Christmas Event Planning Committee to create and deliver a new event in your Peak District town later this year. There has not been a Christmas event in your town for over three years after the Pantomime star for the big switch-on was electrocuted (no long term injury, but you can imagine the local headlines). Several local organisations and businesses have made modest attempts to muster an event with little success. Now a new team has been brought together to pool resources, and local expectations are high. You need to discuss the kind of event you will mount, agree a date, a venue, who will be responsible for different elements, a time line, a budget and sources of funding (incl VIK) for your event.

  • Take a character card each – then act ‘in character’ for the duration of the exercise
  • Select a meeting Chair and a notes taker
  • Proceed with your meeting until we ask you to pause or stop.
  • Be prepared to share (not in character) solutions you discover
