WA-S VIOLENCE ACTION PLAN

  • Operation Catalyst: A/CI Watkinson is lead – Co-ordinated in line with the TTCG
  • VCTF and Op Sceptre/Wolverine to target areas worst affected with focus on S&S
  • Weapon Sweeps – SNTs regularly carry out weapon sweeps, some of which are in

partnership with members of the community.

  • Reassurance Patrols – SNT and LBH officers are working LT shifts to carry out Hi-Vis

patrols in Union Lane, Thornbury Park and London Road.

  • Op Stallion/Wolverine targeting known offenders (ANPR and intel led ops).
  • Safer Schools Team – SST officers engaging schools re awareness about KEC.

Liaising with West Thames College to set up knife arch initiative after the Easter break

  • Sec 60 CJPO searches utilised. Allowing officers greater scope to conduct searches.
  • Dispersal zones under sec 35, ASB Act have been authorised in high crime/ASB

areas.

  • New analyst dedicated to VWI & KEC, to direct resources where needed.
