Proposed Attendance Boundary Change

  • Students, parents and residents of these subdivisions will have local

junior elementary schools which are located within a walking distance of less than 1.6 kilometers, thus eliminating the need for student transportation and providing easier access for parents;

  • The elimination of student transportation will allow for students to

participate in before and after school extra-curricular programs;

  • The feeder path from Junior school to Intermediate school to

Secondary school will ensure the grade cohorts remain consistent and students remain together as they transition from school to school;

  • Based upon the current and long-term enrolment projections for the

schools located within the Malvern Community, Berner Trail Jr PS and Tom Longboat Jr PS provide the most appropriate opportunity from both a space availability and access (walking distance) perspective.
