Ensuring the OPAs have self-generated regular income is critical to promote local empowerment, ownership, and the sustainability of the OPAs

Comprehensive support for older people is important to ensure long lasting healthy and active ageing.

Empowering older people and their associations to care for themselves is effective in promoting inclusive and sustainable healthy ageing and development

The OPA approach is very cost effective (require only 10,000 USD / group to set up and support them to be sustainable).
