FACILITIES

 LSRCP owns and administers fish rearing programs at

26 facilities scattered across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

 Replacement value of these facilities is approaching

$500,000,000

 Operational equipment and vehicles have a

replacement value of nearly $30,000,000

AGING FACILITIES

 Construction of LSRCP facilities began in 1980 with

McCall FH and South Fork Salmon River Satellite, and concluded with completion of the Fall Chinook Acclimation facilities (Pittsburgh Landing, Big Canyon – Idaho, and Captain John’s Rapids) in the mid 90’s.

 Some facilities are approaching 40 years old;

maintenance needs are increasing.

FUNDING

 Currently, LSRCP is able to budget approximately

$5.0M to $5.5M annually to address facility maintenance, improvements, including compliance improvements, and equipment replacement.

 As facilities age, maintenance and equipment

replacement needs will continue to grow.

5 – YEAR PLAN

 We maintain a 5-year plan to address maintenance,

improvements, and equipment replacement at all LSRCP facilities.

 This is a good planning tool to identify and prioritize

projects.

 Size of the LSRCP program allows enough flexibility to

address emergencies that arise without significant impact to the program, in most cases.

 The 5-year planning process has to remain fluid.

COMPLIANCE EVALUATION

 In FY2017 contractors completed evaluations at most

LSRCP facilities to determine if facilities met current NOAA Fisheries and / or State standards for Fish Screens, Fish Ladders and Traps, and Fish Weirs.

 In FY2018, LSRCP initiated design efforts for

improvements to bring many facilities into compliance.

 Construction to begin upon completion of design and

permitting; based on priority and funding availability.

 LSRCP facility compliance will take many years.
