6/8/2017 31

Safety

  • Our HIGHEST priority is ensuring the safety of your

son/daughter.

  • Groups will always travel, and be together in the

same locations.

  • There is limited public walking and no public

transport being used.

  • We will be issuing every pupil with a personalised

information badge which contains their name, school & group leader contact info, and will identify them as a member of group.

  • We want everyone to have a great time and an

experience to remember.

slide-32
SLIDE 32

6/8/2017 32

Expectations

  • Behaviour will not be an issue but, as always,

everyone on the trip is representing Braes High School, themselves and their families.

  • The very highest levels of behaviour are expected at

all times, as is following staff instructions without

  • issue. This is a trip for every pupils to enjoy.
  • There is a wide age range on the trip and our more

senior pupils are reminded that they MUST be a role model for our younger pupils – no swearing and,

  • bviously, absolutely no drinking/smoking or

anything else which would be unacceptable in school.

slide-33
SLIDE 33

6/8/2017 33

Expectations & Valuables

  • We will be checking rooms each day & night, and these

should be kept clean, tidy and without any mess or marks on the walls. The travel company have specified that any damage must be paid before check out – there will, of course, be NONE!

  • Look after any valuable you choose to bring – phone,

money, tablet etc. Store these safely out of sight in your bag in your hotel room (or in the bag you carry with you) when not being used. If you break or lose it, it’s gone. What you leave in London will forever live in London

  • Be alert when out and about – London is a big city and

there are a lot of people. NEVER be out of sight of a member of staff when out of the hotel.

slide-34
SLIDE 34

6/8/2017 34

Final tips

  • Do not bring the kitchen sink – you are away for 3

days so a small bag/suitcase.

  • Write a list soon of everything you think you NEED

and then see how many things you would LIKE you can also fit in. You’ll need money for food on the way down & up, lunch on Tuesday and any snacks/souvenirs you buy.

  • The clothes you arrive at school in at 05:30am are

the ones you will still be in at 11pm that night so be comfortable, including shoes – it’s not a fashion show.

  • Speak to the people in your room – don’t bring 4

sets of hair straighteners, etc.

slide-35
SLIDE 35

6/8/2017 35

Final tips 2

  • Go to bed early the night before you leave and get

some sleep – you will be excited but each day will be long.

  • When you arrive back at the hotel each night, get

some sleep straightaway – you’ll need it. It’s also a public hotel and likely will have a silence after 11pm policy.

  • Don’t forget a pillow, anything anti-sickness (including

a bin bag) for the bus, any medications, your phone & charger to keep in contact with home & take pictures.

  • Be nice to each other always – including your

teachers - make new friends and enjoy the trip.
