The late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum is fondly remembered as the Father of Dubai and visionary architect who bolstered Dubai’s economy and modernised its infrastructure. Sheikh Rashid, renowned for his generosity and understanding of humanity’s needs, gave rise to countless health and education initiatives across the city leaving a lasting legacy benefiting all people today. Inspired by Sheikh Rashid’s philanthropic endeavours, our ambition is to follow his lead by spearheading innovations in medical education and research to leave our fingerprint on humanity.

Al Jalila Foundation has raised significant funds with the generous support of our philanthropic partners and invested AED 200 million to deliver on our promise to establish the first-of-its-kind multidisciplinary biomedical research institute in the UAE. We continue to make our vision a reality by cultivating a thriving research community by awarding grants and international fellowships to brilliant researchers in the UAE to lead studies into cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes,

Dedicated to the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum ‘Bassmat Rashid Bin Saeed’ is a unique fundraising campaign that uses cutting-edge technology to recognise the donor community advancing local medical research. Bassmat, ‘fingerprint’ in Arabic, signifies the power donors have to leave their distinctive mark on the future of medical innovation. Designed by Dubai's leading digital engineers and creatives, the first-of-its-kind donor recognition wall comprises of seven donation categories inviting everyone to play their part, from individuals and families to corporations and philanthropists, with every donor recognised in their

Donor funds enable Al Jalila Foundation to advance medical breakthroughs that could save millions of lives and change the fabric of science as we know it.
