- I. LYSD – OUR VISION
At LYSD, we use sport to educate, protect, empower and connect youth since 2012. We empower kids and teenagers to become Africa’s future leaders. We want to talk about their hopes and give them the means to achieve their dreams. We vision basketball as a great tool to bring together boys and girls from different social backgrounds and foster social inclusion and cohesion.

EDUCATION EQUALITY SOCIAL INCLUSION COHESION
- I. LYSD – OUR EXPERTISE
To turn this vision into reality, we design inclusive programs and organize sports events for kids and teenagers. Creating synergies with local authorities, building
- r
upgrading facilities and training trainers are our first steps to set up environments full of opportunities for youth.
- I. LYSD – COLLABORATING WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES
We create more alternatives to youth. We partner with the Togolese Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, the Basketball Federation and local authorities.

- I. LYSD – TRAINING TRAINERS
We strongly believe that LYSD trainers are more than basketball coaches for kids. They are the condition of success for our actions and they help us maximize our social impact. Thus, we work with adults and young adults (teachers, students, players…) involved in their community and sharing our vision. Every year, we bring on sport and social experts to run open trainings for our trainers and other basketball
- coaches. Improving their skills and empowering them is paramount to us.
We provide job opportunities as LYSD trainers to our programs most involved and deserving teenagers.

- I. LYSD – AMBASSADORS
We do our best to help children with high sport or academic potential to reach the next
- level. Freddy and Ives are symbol of hard work and perseverance.
Ives Galley is from Kpalime, a small city 120km North of Lome, Togo’s capital city. He has been enrolled at ALA in 2012. Through our network, we provided him with a mentor (Boris Adokou – MBA, Cambridge Judge Business School) and we found him an internship at SOGEA SATOM in 2013. After two years at ALA, Ives joined the University of Berkeley, where he is currently finishing his second year in engineering. Freddy Zotchi is one of the most gifted young basketball player we met. In 2014, we helped him discovering the SEED Academy in Senegal (best basketball academy in West Africa). Then we sent him to an NBA camp in Burkina Faso. Few months after, he received a scholarship to pursue his dream at Liberty Christian School in the USA.
- I. LYSD – SOCIAL & SPORT DEVELOPMENT IMPACT
Social: the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) represents our priority. « We can’t help everyone but everyone can help

The pilot of the project is already designed and financed by Cities Alliance, and will be launched soon.
- II. DEVELOPMENT – TOGO
To increase the number of children we reach and provide better opportunities to our participants, we have four main goals for the following season:
- Opening branches in four new cities (Atakpame,
Kara, Sokode and Tsevie)
- Developing an educational curriculum adapted to
Togo and its issues
- Increasing the number of trainers and the quality of
their training

areas. On International Women’s Day, we will
- rganize events in all our cities to raise

- II. DEVELOPMENT - PARTNERSHIPS
From the first day, many companies have been supporting us, providing us with their expertise: coaching (NBA Africa), material (Adidas, Nike), accommodation (Accor Hotels), logistics support (DHL), water (Crista), etc. The NGO is growing and requires more financial partnerships similar to the ones with OnGood and Canal+ Afrique. Developing a network
- f
corporate sponsors is crucial for LYSD sustainability.
- II. DEVELOPMENT - MEDIA
Medias play a key role in our development. TV, radio, website and press coverage put a light on our events and give us opportunities to show our activities and increase our sponsors’ visibility.
