Why Alternative Programs?

choices to meet the unique learning needs of their child
- Programs focus on a particular
language, culture, subject (Arts, Science), or teaching philosophy

Lottery Process
- Where a program is
- versubscribed the lottery
process will be employed
- Registrations are categorized
using 3 criteria:
- Category 1 - walk zone with siblings
- Category 2 - walk zone no siblings OR
bus zone with siblings
- Category 3 - bus zone no siblings
Timeline for Registration
- Opens January 22nd
- Closed noon on Tuesday before
Teachers Convention (Feb 13)
- Lottery drawn on Wednesday
before Teachers Convention
- Lottery outcome sent by the last
school day in February
- Parents must accept/decline by
2nd Friday in March
