La Fondation Louisiane 735 Rue Jefferson Lafayette, Louisiana 70501 Scholarship Opportunities ALCFES The Association of Louisiana High School French Clubs, Association louisianaise des clubs de français des écoles secondaires (ALCFES), sponsors a French Immersion weekend convention annually in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, or Lafayette, that features social activities, meals, guest speakers, competitions, entertainment and skits in French. ALCFES is the principle event for application and qualification for the various scholarships supported by La Fondation Louisiane and CODOFIL (Council for the Development of French in Louisiana). Only one student per high school is allowed to participate in the scholarship competition during the ALCFES convention and the student is selected by his/her teacher/French Club director. The ALCFES convention will be held on February 19-21, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans-Airport, 2829 Williams Boulevard, Kenner, LA 70062. The convention theme is franco-future . www.alcfes.com A tax-deductible gift(s) of $250 will allow one high school student, based on merit and need, to attend the ALCFES convention, who might otherwise not be able to attend. JONQUIÈRE, QUÉBEC The Centre Linguistique du Collège de Jonquière in Jonquière, Québec, Canada offers one full 5-week summer immersion scholarship ($3,000 value) to a qualifying high school student based on merit and need, and an additional half-scholarship to a qualifying college student. The scholarship includes tuition, workshops, socio-cultural activities, housing with a host family, and three meals per day. www.langues- jonquiere.ca A $1,000 tax-deductible gift will provide this high school scholarship recipient with funds to cover airfare, bus transportation and registration. A $2,500 tax-deductible gift will provide a college scholarship recipient with funds to cover the balance of the half-scholarship provided, plus airfare, bus transportation and registration.

CHURCH POINT, NOVA SCOTIA The Université Sainte-Anne in Church Point, Nova Scotia, offers one full 5-week summer immersion scholarship ($3,000 value) and multiple half-scholarships ($1,500 value) to qualifying high school students, and an additional full scholarship to a qualifying college student, based on merit and need. The scholarships include tuition for classes, workshops, socio-cultural activities, and room and board. https://www.usainteanne.ca/spring-and-summer-schools A $1,000 tax-deductible gift(s) will provide a full-scholarship recipient with funds to cover airfare, bus transportation and registration. A gift(s) of $2,500 will provide the same for half-scholarship recipients, including the balance of the half-scholarship provided. LIÈGE, BELGIUM Wallonie-Bruxelles International offers three high school and five college summer immersion 3-week full scholarships at the Université de Liège ($1,500 value). VICHY, FRANCE The French government, through The French Consulate of New Orleans , offers one high school full summer scholarship for French immersion in Vichy, région d’Auvergne, France ($1,500 value). The recipient of this scholarship will also be awarded $1,000 through the Homer & Jason Dyess Scholarship at La Fondation Louisiane . A $500 tax-deductible gift will further provide this scholarship recipient with funds to cover airfare, bus transportation and registration, who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of such a wonderful opportunity.

  3. PARIS, FRANCE The École Suisse Internationale in Paris, France offers one scholarship to a Louisiana high school senior to participate in their 4-week intensive French program (July 4-29, 2016), valued at $600. The scholarship covers the registration fees, 32 French lessons per week, materials used in class, and cultural activities. http://www.ecolesuissefle.fr/paris A $4,000 tax-deductible gift will provide this scholarship recipient with funds to cover round-trip transportation to Paris and housing with a host family (with breakfast/lunch or breakfast/dinner) for the month of July. PARIS, FRANCE The MICEFA (inter-university Franco-American exchange program) allows Louisiana university students (undergraduates) to study at a participating Parisian university for one semester or one academic year. The student pays normal tuition at the university in Louisiana and is allowed to study at a Parisian university. If the student wishes to spend only one semester in Paris, the spring semester is preferred. www.micefa.org A $3,000 tax-deductible gift will provide a Louisiana college exchange student with the necessary funds to cover airfare, bus transfers, and assistance with other expenses for one full semester abroad. THE LIONS CLUBS OF FRANCE The Lions Clubs of France offer several full scholarships ($3,000 value) to Louisiana university students (undergraduate) to participate in summer programs at their centres throughout France in the month of July. Each centre has a particular theme and age requirements. The student is able to choose their preferred centre. Applicants for this scholarship must have a strong level in French. The scholarship includes classes, activities, housing, and meals. www.amicif.fr A $1,500 tax-deductible gift will provide a recipient of this scholarship with the necessary funds to cover airfare and local transportation.
