  4. Mission ● teach refugees software development skills ● provide them with a network of mentors and professionals ● help them find jobs in the industry

  5. Who are we? Refugees on Rails Munich Munich chapter of Refugees on Rails Berlin more infomation at refugeesonrails.org and munich.refugeesonrails.org effort expanding to cities across Germany and Europe the team [! insert team picture !]

What's our plan? help students (refugees) acquire coding skills so they can find a job in the tech industry supply more than tech expertise teach practises & attitude build a network of students, volunteers, companies, organizations ultimately integrate refugees into the workplace, and into the society

  7. The Course

  8. Program schedule weekly live instruction workshops with students and mentors in one space during the week students work on their own or in small groups; mentors available remotely every 3 months hackathon/demo day on demand and by availability tech talks

  9. Curriculum the FireHose project 15 week world-class coding bootcamp, focusing on real world skills 2 weeks intro/prep: HTML/CSS/ruby basics 13 weeks Ruby on Rails with real applications, algorithms, and TDD how is it going to be used? students work at their own pace in groups with the help of the mentors
