About the Programme

Professional Diploma in Construction Engineering : The aim of this course is to provide students with a strong foundation, and wide coverage of all aspects of the construction so that they could proceed to acquire higher degree qualifications. The principal underlining this course is to merge theory with actual practices in the Singapore construction industry. The theories will base on the Singapore context and regulations. Topics range from engineering, construction technology, facilities management principles and property development concepts. This enables graduates to proceed to any of the built environment degree programmes.

Medical Insurance

It is compulsory for all students studying at Private Education Institutions (PEI) in Singapore to have medical insurance coverage through CPE approved insurance provider for hospitalisation, outpatient and related medical treatment for the entire course duration. HSBC Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd has been appointed as the insurance provider for Trent Global College’s students. The following students can choose to opt out of the medical insurance scheme if they can show that they are already covered by their own medical insurance:

Singapore citizens, permanent residents and international students not on the Student's Pass, and

Students under corporate sponsorship or corporate agreement signed between the private education institution and the sponsor organisation.

Medical insurance is not applicable to part-time students and students taking courses with duration of not more than one month or 50 hours.

Student Feedbacks

There are principally two options open to students to communicate their views on courses and the college’s service standards.

  • Module feedback : Questionnaires are regularly issued for students to

complete at the end of each module, allowing students to give feedback on the quality of the modules and teaching.

  • Post Course Feedback: is also sought from graduating students to

assess the college’s overall standards of service.

  • Random survey: carried out by walking around by the CEO to gather

feedbacks from students in non-structured and structured ways.

Attendance Requirement

Local students attendance are monitored monthly basis. Students who fall below Attendance requirement (75%) will be issued warning letter immediately. Counseling will be carried out after 2 consecutive warning letters and students are unable to submit acceptable reason. Counseling will be carried out by telephone calls by the Manager/Director. Subsequent absentees will be referred to the Academic and Exam boards for further action.

STUDENT GUIDE FOR THE APPEALS PROCEDURE

 It is the policy of the college and administration to deal effectively with the

student appeals of results. This student guide for appeal is written with the intent to ensure that the interests and well-being of students and staff associated with an individual appeal are properly safeguarded, and that appropriate support is provided for those associated with an appeal.

 The College will treat any documentation associated with the student

appeal confidentially, both that produced by the student and by other

  • parties. It will be necessary for the College to consider the student appeal

against certain criteria as set out in the Regulations and in the light of any evidence the student submit.

SDF FUNDING

 For Singaporean/SPR, you are eligible for SDF Funding (under company’s account).  Employers must enroll student/employee via Skills Connect System, and to be

approved by WDA. Enrollment must be made within 30 days of class commencement.

 Upon course completion of employee, to make an ‘Adhoc Claim’ employers must

submit:

 Attendance record of employee ( > 75% attendance rate & complete all assessments)  Payment Invoice

These must be submitted within 120 days after course commencement, for WDA to process claim.

 Employers must also submit the Absentee Payroll documents (proof to show that

employers did pay employees of the absentee pay)to WDA when making the Absentee Payroll claim.
