INTERNATIONAL CIVIC SERVICE IN VIENNE Presentation of the host project

This document presents the City of Vienne’s project to host in Vienne youngsters from the Twin Cities as part of an engagement mission of an international civic service, in 2019 – 2020. Offered to youngsters from Esslingen, Piotrkow Trybunalski, Udine, Velenje, Goris and Albacete, this mobility project will bring a new dynamic to the partnerships. Aims for the youngsters:  Improve the foreign language practice  Get out of their daily lives, discover a different environment, acquire new skills (independence, autonomy, empowerment, etc.)  Gain an experience abroad, enrich by working with other youngsters, discover the true dimension of European citizenship  Discover the City of Vienne and its actions, the interest for international mobility  Bring a new dynamic of cooperation between partner cities  Engage in a long-term volunteer mission of general interest The following information sets out:  Vienne City Hall, host organization  Communal services welcoming youngsters  Calendar of the mission in Vienne  Welcoming terms in Vienne  Financial commitments of the City of Vienne and the partners ones

Welcoming commitments

  • Vienne City Hall

Working time:

  • 35 hours / week
  • 7 hours / day

Weekly rest:

  • Saturday and Sunday

Holidays:

  • 2 days / month
  • 12 days for the whole mission

Financial commitments

Expenses covered by the City of Vienne:

  • Volunteer’s accommodations in Vienne
  • Weekly lunches (from Monday to Friday)
  • Season ticket of the local transport
  • Monthly living allowance (580 € / month)

Expenses covered by the partner city and/or the volunteer

  • International two-way transport expenses to the mission location (Vienne)
  • Health insurance and repatriation

1. Presentation of the City of Vienne

www.vienne.fr https://www.facebook.com/vienne38200/ The City of Vienne is a territorial collectivity (French administrative organization) whose main mission is to meet the needs of the local population. It practices general skills to manage any communal interest matters and other skills in various fields such as education, youth and international action. International mobility of youngsters has always been a priority for the City of Vienne. It is a factor conducive to cultural awareness, professional integration and social

  • diversity. The representatives always had a special attention towards youth and

international concerns and in this sense introduced actions in these fields.

2. Presentation of the missions proposed to the volunteers

The missions proposed by the municipal departments are linked to the main project of international mobility carried by the City of Vienne and testify the interest of these services to welcome a volunteer from partner cities.

3. Accommodation of the volunteers

The youngsters will be welcomed at an apartment building (studio) for youngsters within one of the 3 residences called « Habitat Jeunes » (See the accommodation presentation sheet)
