BRIEF REMINDERS

 Interior Planting

  • Brings a natural feeling
  • Year-round changing form
  • Enriches the design
  • Striking colors, textures, fragrances
  • Creates a dynamic environment
  • Can be used to hide or soften unwanted parts
  • Blocks noise, dust and controls the acoustics and the lighting
  • Produces oxygen and cleans the air
  • Can be used to lower stress, increase productivity and for healing of patients

TYPOLOGIES OF INTERIOR GARDENS

 Small Indoor Plantings and Gardens

A small planted area can be enough to improve the quality of a small space, dampening noise or form a route. Can create the indoor and

  • utdoor relationship.

 Open and Closed Inner Courtyards and Patios

Contributes to the lighting of the building’s interior. Planting can be designed in different hights so that it can be seen from several storeys.

 Vertical Gardens

Demonstrates the use of wall. They have no connection with the ground. The whole installation –base, structure, plants, water and nutritiants- is secured to a vertical supporting wall. They have advantage in saving space.

 Atrium and Large Conservatories

Transparent and open to sky. Serves to house plants and people to protect from weather conditions while enjoying planted areas.

  • Creative and communicative

effects

  • Symbolic, physical and chemical

effects

  • Humidity and air quality in the

space

  • Noise reduction

 Context  Creating Space  Perception  Principles of Design

  • Contrast
  • Rhythm
  • Theme

 T

exture

  • Coarse
  • Fine

 Color

  • Monochromatic
  • Natural
  • Polychromatic

 Background  Form

  • Column
