Empowering the Mine with Rugged, Fit for Purpose Underground Networking Made Easy
▪ Must be easy enough for miners to install & maintain ▪ Agnostic – interoperable with existing WiFi infrastructure & 3rd parties (no rip & replace) ▪ Accessible to small & medium sized mines who (limited IT resources). ▪ Expandable as the mine moves, & as they want more features. ▪ Has to enable IoT (sensors & devices) ▪ Has to support Teleoperations
Cable Management Easily Transported Rugged IP67 Enclosure Extended Operating Temperature Range Rail Mounted System IP67 Connectors Cable Protection Lip High Visibility
802.11 Wi-Fi Fiber 802.3 af/at Power-over-Ethernet Gigabit Ethernet Switching
▪ 20-40% less expensive than comparable commercial networking equipment ▪ User friendly rail based mounting system - Modules can be changed by Non-Technical personnel ▪ Modular – plug and play for easy maintenance, rapid deployment, redeployment and expansion. ▪ Pre-terminated IP67 fibre and Ethernet cables ▪ Supplies power to PoE and PoE+ devices
Edge fibre daisy-chain Double Distribution for high device count NLT or third- party surface link PoE equipment Ethernet extension past 100m Widely deployed Wi-Fi Third-party interoperability

A peak in to a customer network to show tracking and cycle time of haul trucks through NLT Digital Mine software
▪ NLT deployed system for location tracking, logging, and visualization of haul trucks in a hard-rock mining
▪ Site had 5 pick-up points and 2 dump points ▪ Intent was to understand the efficiency of the operation ▪ Virtual gates created with NLT access points ▪ Measured the number of dump cycles
▪ per shift ▪ per type (ore or waste) ▪ by operator/vehicle
▪ The mine required real-time visibility of the 10 haul trucks to determine:
1. Vehicle cycle time between ore/waste pickup and dump. 2. Where each vehicle is not moving or is idle. 3. When each idle event is occurring. 4. How long idle events for individual vehicles last.
▪ These logs ultimately provide the mine with insight into when and why the trucks were in transit or
Flatline on charts are indication of truck idling
▪ 2-2.5 h/shift idle time due to
▪ Corrective action taken, employees understood shift-changes were monitored ▪ Decreased period to 45 minutes ▪ Action added 1.5 cycles/truck/shift
▪ Congestion believed to be at dump sites ▪ Data revealed loading zones to be bottleneck ▪ Additional loading zone was created ▪ Action added 1 cycle/truck/shift
