Point of CBD for Sri Lanka.

• Signed and ratified the CBD in 1994.
• Prepared the National Biodiversity

Conservation Action plan(NBCAP)

• Prepared the Addendum to

the NBCAP on 2007

• Sri Lanka has included conservation of

biodiversity in the Action plan of the Ministry “Haritha Lanka”.

• Sri Lanka has incorporated conservation of

biodiversity in the Government mission “Mahinda chinthanaya” the vision for tomorrow.

• Conducted an assessment of the status of

Biodiversity of the Country (Aichi Target 12).

• Includes way forward for conservation of
