What is a Counselor In Training Program?
A Camp Counselor Training and Development Program for 14-17 year olds
Teaches high school age students transferable skills such as, communication, leadership, organization, social, attitudes, emotional intelligence, etc.
What they are NOT: Only there to take campers to get water and go to the bathroom
CITs will not only be working with camp counselors coordinating activities
that the children participate in on a daily basis, they will also be involved in leadership development programming and organized team meetings to expand their soft skills which are needed in camp counseling. The level of enthusiasm, motivation to learn, and positive energy the CIT brings to camp each day will determine the amount of fun and success they will have throughout the week.
Imperative to the program for CITs to understand their job role!!
Staying Safe – Keep Campers Safe, While Having Fun Engaging – Always Should Be Engaged with Campers Asking – Further learning by taking initiate and asking
