What is a Counselor In Training Program?

A Camp Counselor Training and Development Program for 14-17 year olds

Teaches high school age students transferable skills such as, communication, leadership, organization, social, attitudes, emotional intelligence, etc.

What they are NOT: Only there to take campers to get water and go to the bathroom

CIT Job Description/Role

 CITs will not only be working with camp counselors coordinating activities

that the children participate in on a daily basis, they will also be involved in leadership development programming and organized team meetings to expand their soft skills which are needed in camp counseling. The level of enthusiasm, motivation to learn, and positive energy the CIT brings to camp each day will determine the amount of fun and success they will have throughout the week.

 Imperative to the program for CITs to understand their job role!!

 Paying the CIT Coordinator

($15/hrs x 40 hrs/week x 10 weeks = $6000)

 Field Trips/Special Events

(20 CITs x $20/trip x 10 weeks = $4000)

 T-Shirts

(20 CITs x $10/shirt x 2 shirts x 10 weeks = $4000) Expenses = $14,000 Increase In Camp Program Revenue CIT Program Revenue:

 CIT Participation Fee ($250/week x

20 CITs x 10 weeks) Revenue = $50,000 CIT Program Surplus: $50,000 - $14,000 = $36,000 That’s almost an additional $3,600 a week!
