*Note: There are some judokas also with deafness. In this case the referee have to touch the judoka to indicate the decisions.

Short history

Ho we ve r, its Pa ra lympic de b ut o nly to o k pla c e a t the Se o ul 1988 Ga me s, with the pa rtic ipa tio n o f ma le a thle te s. Wo me n ha ve b e e n c o mpe ting sinc e the Athe ns 2004 Ga me s.  No wa da ys the limit o f the c o mpe ting the judo ka s a t the Pa ra lympic Ga me s is 132 judo ka s in 13 we ig ht c a te g o rie s. T he re a re 7 ma le c a te g o rie s a nd 6 fe ma le c a te g o rie s. It c a n b e e nte re d 12 ma le a nd 8 fe ma le judo ka s in e a c h we ig ht c a te g o ry.
