sustainable fashion
INTRODUCTION In this project Sustainable fashion students will conduct new FASHION NARRATIVES FOR THE FUTURE based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (The SDGs). For businesses to meet the SDGs - a shift in business culture, strategy, design, communication and production processes is required. It is in this pincer movement students must use all their knowledge, skills and competences to shed lights on new sustainable opportunities and sustainable design solutions as well as defining a new eligibility for fashion now and in the future. The task is to bring the SDGs into the Fashion businesses by featuring a fashion company. This will give the students the opportunity to make a framework, concept and a design solution routed in both the SDGs as well as a company’s DNA. The concept, content and process is based on The Youth Fashion Summit 2016 (YFS).
sustainable fashion // samarbejdspartnere
The collaborating schools are London College of Fashion (LCF) with Fashion Business students and Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA) with Sustainable Fashion students. Collaboration as a means to make change is often highlighted within the literature and practical work around sustainability. There is a call for cross-disciplinary collaboration. Therefore students from different educational programs and schools are the driving force of this project together with actors from the Fashion industry. NIKE // material driven design // zero waste
By applying principles within ‘Material Driven Design’ or ‘Reuse, Recycling and Resource Exchange’ in the design process students will be able to create innovative Circular Economy design solutions that can generate a positive impact on the future. From Nike’s DNA students will be designing products related to the area of Sustainable Fashion - products that aim to target the future Nike costumer.
