We conduct tests for our own research purposes and customer projects. In addition to our own R & D department, we also maintain well-developed co-operations with a number of universities. This provides us with the opportunity to perform very extensive tests. The performance of a carbon brush is strongly dependent on the ambient

• environment. Especially the temperature

and humidity have a great impact. It is as important to collect and record climatic data as running conditions and parameters as current, speed, voltage drop, mechanical losses etc. Additionally we have access to several climatic chambers where we just not collect the data but instead control the environment. We have the possibility to simulate everything between extremely dry climates (as 0.1 g H2O/m3) up to 90% RH, at various temperatures. Carbex examine static material properties and parameters.
