Comments:

  • This was the 6th year of participation of HFWG in HF Awareness Day

activities.

  • HF Awareness Day activities started with a national press conference in

Istanbul on 4 May 2017, in which all national TV channels and newspaper representatives was invited to attend and a press release was delivered.

  • Turkish Society of Cardiology International Pulmonary Vascular Disease

(PVD) Congress was held on 5-6 May 2017 in Istanbul and during this meeting, HF Awareness Day was announced to the participants and a special HF session was organized at the congress scientific programme.

  • Turkish 2017 version of HF Awareness Day Posters were sent to primary

care centers and public, private and university hospitals.

  • A road map on the prevention and to control of HF prevalence in Turkey

was submmitted to the Ministry of Health.

  • Board members from the Heart Failure Working Group gave interviews

about the definition, symptoms, signs, causes, treatment and prevention of HF on national and local TV channels to raise public awareness of HF .

  • New heart failure information leaflets were distributed to the patients

admitted to outpatient departments.

  • Newspaper announcements of the Heart Failure Awareness Day was

published and also newspaper interviews have been done for rising public awareness of risk factors for HF.

  • A newsletter about HF Awareness Day was prepared and sent all members
  • f the Turkish Society of Cardiology.
  • Announcement of the Heart Failure Awareness Day and web banner took

place on the official website of Turkish Society of Cardiology.
