Hadron Orbit in IP2 April 6, 2018 Work performed RHIC at store, 12 bunches (rebucketed) in yellow ring B r = 727.7 T m Quadrupoles in the common section were excited with maximal swing (+/- 6.4 A) D GL = 1.0731 T, D K = 0.0015 m -1

Work performed

  • RHIC at store, 12 bunches (rebucketed) in yellow ring Br = 727.7 T m
  • Quadrupoles in the common section were excited with maximal

swing (+/- 6.4 A) DGL = 1.0731 T, DK = 0.0015 m-1

  • Tunes were monitored using BBQ
  • Orbit in common section was monitored with CeC BPMs (9 MHz and

500 MHz)

Conclusions

  • We have data but signal to noise ratio is low. We need to repeat

measurements at lower energy and 111 bunches fill.

  • The procedure can work for measuring position of both beam inside

interaction region with quadrupoles placed on either side and monitoring beams displacement after separation.
