COME ONE, COME ALL VITAL CAMPUS REPRESENTATION * ANYONE * IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE (ADMINISTRATION, WRAP-AROUND SERVICES FACULTY, STAFF) ARE PROVIDED, YOU MUST WITH A HEART OF HAVE AT LEAST ONE SERVICE AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM WILLINGNESS TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS: HELP. -FACULTY -CURRENTLY WE HAVE AN AD HOC -STUDENT SERVICES (Career/Re- COMMITTEE OF 16 entry, Counseling, Disability *WHO IS HAVING Resources, Financial Aid ) - STUDENT GOVERNMENT PARALLEL CONVERSATIONS ?

W HAT DO YOU NEED TO GET STARTED? *This is an organic process. -You do not need to be an official committee to do this. *Like-minded individuals with hearts and minds ready to help students and create “slack”. -You may find different faculty and staff already trying to help students in different ways. This committee will serve to unite common interests.

  7. W HERE CAN THI S BE DONE? *Consider the availability on-campus and consider the needs of multiple locations (if any). - This program can be housed just about anywhere… 1. The food bank on our main campus is located in the counseling office. 2. Our monthly meetings are held in the SGA office, but can be held in any available space on-campus. 3. We have a second food bank in a former storage room at a second campus.

Realization Interaction Connection As the Resource Page was being constructed, we realized that there were programs already in action at our school that sought to address some of the needs of the students: - Individual Faculty -Re-Entry Program -Suicide Prevention Program Food Pantry

Setting Up a Food Pantry *There’s no need to go it alone or to re-invent the wheel - What agencies in your community already address the need of food scarcity? -TMCC partnered with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada *Are there other schools in your community addressing the issue of food scarcity? - The University of Nevada Reno already had a successful pantry *What can your school commit to in terms of space, time, and people? (Be honest in your assessment). - Originally, our pantry was by appointment only, then as we became more comfortable it grew to a set day and time and emergency appointments as needed.
