Givins/Shaw PART – Meeting #1 Program Area Review Process Superintendent’s Local Review – March 2016 Step 1 • Superintendent of Education completes the Superintendent’s Local Review form and submits it to the Central Accommodation Team (CAT). Local Feasibility Team (LFT) – March to April 2016 • Once approval is received from CAT, an LFT is formed. Step 2 • LFT is composed of directly affected superintendents, principals, trustees, and other central staff as required. • LFT meets to review data and discusses impacts of any proposed changes. • LFT agrees on recommendation and reports back to CAT. Program Area Review Team (PART) April to May 2016 – • CAT reviews LFT report and recommends approval to form a PART. • PART members review data, discuss impacts, and makes a Step 3 recommendation to proceed or not to proceed with any change. • One of the PART meetings shall be a community meeting to receive (we are here) broader feedback. • Once PART has reached decision, superintendent prepares report with recommendations and brings it to CAT for review. Board of Trustees – June 2016 • After considering the committee’s recommendations, central staff shall present its own recommendations to the Board of Trustees for approval. Step 4 • Following Board’s approval to make change, the affected Superintendents and Principals will notify staff and students and proceed with addressing details related to the transition. 4

Givins/Shaw PART – Meeting #1 Discussion of Options Option 1 • Direct portion of Givins/Shaw Jr PS’ junior attendance area west of Dovercourt Road to Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave Jr & Sr PS effective September 2017. • Direct portion of Givins/Shaw Jr PS’ junior attendance area south of the railway tracks to Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave Jr & Sr PS effective September 2017. Option 2 • Both boundary changes as per Option 1. • Effective September 2017, Givins/Shaw Jr PS becomes a JK­5 school, with Alexander Muir/Gladstone Jr & Sr PS taking in the Grade 6 students. Option 3 • Direct portion of Givins/Shaw Jr PS’ attendance area west of Dovercourt Road to Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave Jr & Sr PS effective September 2017. • Direct portion of Givins/Shaw Jr PS’ junior attendance area south of the railway tracks as well as the portion of Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave Jr and Sr PS’ junior and intermediate attendance area south of King Street West to Queen Victoria PS effective September 2017. Option 3B • Both boundary changes as per Option 3. • Effective September 2017, Givins/Shaw Jr PS becomes a JK­5 school, with Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave Jr & Sr PS taking in the Grade 6 students. Option 3C • Both boundary changes as per Option 3. • Classroom reorganization and portables at Givins/Shaw Jr PS to accommodate enrolment growth in the interim (until 2024) • Potential retrofit to Rooms 6 and 7 at Givins/Shaw Jr PS (divide FDK classroom into 2 classrooms) for September 2018 9
