Summer Program Highlights and Fall Products

Florida Polytechnic hosted 30 Girl Scouts and their coaches at Camp CEO – STEM in July. Camp CEO – Civics will be Nov. 1-3 at

  • CDT. Deadline to apply was Oct. 15.

Camp CEO – Professional will be Apr. 3- 5 at Camp Wildwood. Deadline to apply is Jan. 31. Summer camp 2019 hosted 1,562 Girl Scouts! STEM Day Camp at CDT hosted 83 campers. Wildwood hosted Family Camping on the 4th of July. As of the end of September, over 2,300 girls have created their avatars and launched their online stores.

Projected Membership 2020

Reduction in APD (Staff led) Girls to align with allocated funding (decreases in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Polk.) Growth in traditional, volunteer-led girls and adults. Setting goals for a flat membership year, with the increases in traditional troop girls to offset the loss in APD girls.

GS Fest and RK Mellon Outdoor Program

Outdoor Program projects:

  • New partnerships with state parks
  • Events alongside National Public Lands Day

GS Fest on Sept. 21 welcomed over 1,900 participants. Highlights included:

Orlando 2020 – What to expect

Registration opens January 2020. Weekend registration rate is $295/girl and $345/adult and includes:

  • Access to National Council Session – Oct. 21-23
  • Opening and closing ceremonies – Oct. 23 and Oct. 25
  • Breakout and keynote sessions – Oct. 23-25
  • Saturday evening celebration party – Oct. 24
  • Admission to the G.I.R.L. Expo – Oct. 23-25

Early bird discounts, day passes, and single admission tickets for G.I.R.L. Expo will be available.

National Council Session Delegates

NCS Delegates are selected by an application process and voted in at the Annual Meeting. The Board Development Committee will review the applications and conduct interviews if needed. Qualifications for an NCS Delegate are:

  • Attend the National Council Session for the currently

scheduled for October 21-23, 2020

  • Serve a full triennium (3 years) and become a member of

the GSWCF Representative Assembly

  • Commitment to learn parliamentary procedure, attend

trainings, briefings, and forums

  • Willingness to communicate with staff, service units,

members and volunteers
