that needed a little sprucing up.
SLIDE 4
- Mrs. Wyatt knew her
students would appreciate a cheery, quiet place to fall into a story. She planted the seed of an idea with
- Mr. Modaff, the
PTO, GMS SLT, BFEE, and many talented people.
SLIDE 5
The Buildings & Grounds Department took away a whiteboard, some wires and other ugly debris. They painted blue skies. Mr. & Mrs. Wyatt and Hannah Ahnen camouflaged the cupboards.
SLIDE 6
Thanks to
- Mrs. Ahnen’s
incredible talent, a great big tree began to grow in this space!
SLIDE 7
Third-graders gave the birds a place to live in that tree.
SLIDE 8
- Mrs. Spence,
- Mrs. Nicely,
& Mrs. Agro helped the Kinder- gartners create a lovely Book Cottage.
SLIDE 9
The Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence seeded the lawn and bought some nice
- flowers. The Book
Cottage passed the
- inspection. (Full
Disclosure: The building inspector is related to
- Mrs. Wyatt.)
SLIDE 10
- Ms. Pappanduros planted some
bushes, and every child in the school helped them to bud out.
SLIDE 11
- Mrs. Wyatt fenced in the Garden and made a flowery
hide-away with funds from the School Leadership Team.
- Ms. Hubbard sewed cushions for wicker furniture that was
purchased by the PTO.
SLIDE 12
- Ms. Hubbard couldn’t “leave”
it at that, so she made pillows for this garden spot.
SLIDE 13
As the garden grew, it attracted all sorts of insects - dragonflies, caterpillars, butterflies, ladybugs . . .
SLIDE 14
With a lot of help from the PTO, more seating started sprouting up!
SLIDE 15
And in the end, there was a wonderful, enchanted place
SLIDE 16
where many, many children would enjoy stories happily ever after.
