MASTER PLANNING
Why Undertake this Process Now?
- Undertaking a comprehensive master plan
was a 2011 Strategic Plan key initiative
- The plan will help the district continue to
invest responsibly and sustainably in our community’s recreation resources in years to come.
A master plan serves as a long term roadmap for major projects and capital improvements for an organization.
- The District knew the City debt obligation for the
Highland Park Country Club (HPCC) would be paid off in
- 2013. Per the 1996 Intergovernmental Agreement with
the City, the Park District had the opportunity to assume operation of HPCC. This meant the opportunity to carefully evaluate how ownership and management
- f this large open space might be incorporated to align
with the Park District’s mission and vision and support the recreational needs of our residents.
