Create 2 teams (7th and 8th) at each Middle School Move all freshman to the JV/Varsity team

  • All 3 freshman coaching positions would be reassigned. 1 would move up the SH

staff, 1 to MS East, 1 to MS West. This will also help with the developmental instruction at the middle schools. If current freshman coaches are interested, they would need to apply for the new positions. Current MS coaching positions will stay the same.

  • On 7th grade game days (Wednesdays), 2 coaches would travel with the 7th

graders and 1 will stay at home for practice with the 8th graders. Vice-versa on 8th grade game days.

  • Freshman student-athletes would be a part of the varsity/jv team and would follow

the same practice schedules which are set forth by our varsity staff.

  • All players 9-12 will dress for Friday Night Varsity Games

FAQ

  • Will my 9th grader have to go against a varsity player in practice?
  • No. We are able to plan our practices so that we can have varsity and JV players practicing at the same time

but not against each other.

  • Will my 9th grader lose out on playing time overall?
  • JV coaches will rotate all players into the JV games. Playing time will not be equal.
  • Will my 9th grader dress for Friday Games?
  • Yes. All players will dress for Friday games. Also, our JV Players have practices on Saturday mornings. Overall,

it’s more football throughout the season.

  • What if there are not enough 7th graders to make a team every week?
  • In middle school, we are able to move 7th and 8th graders to fill out 2 rosters if necessary.
