Proposed Project Overview

  • Expand FM 1516 from two-lanes to

four-lanes with left turn lanes and raised medians.

  • Add dedicated bike lanes and

sidewalks on both sides of FM 1516.

  • Drainage improvements – drainage

ditches and underground storm water system.

  • Project would require an additional

15.2 acres of right of way, with utility adjustments and one commercial

  • displacement. No residential

displacements are anticipated.

time along FM 1516

in the project area is identified to be higher than the state average.

  • From 2011-2015, there

were 81 injury related

  • crashes. Eight of which,
  • r 10%, of the total

injury-related incidents involved bicyclists or pedestrians.
