Community Service Hours

  • In order to graduate, you must earn 30 credits, pass the

OSSLT or the OLC, and…

  • you must complete 40 hours of community service.
  • In order to be accepted by a post secondary institution

you must complete 40 hours of community service.

  • In order to purchase a prom ticket, you must have

submitted your 40 hours of community service by April 10th, 2020.

Post-Secondary Applications: Transcripts

  • Marks will be sent electronically to the OUAC and OCAS. You

should be able to view your marks on the application websites next week.

  • It is your responsibility to check your online application and

make sure that:

1. Your transcripts are complete. This includes courses taken at BR as well as through other school boards (night school and e- learning. 2. All marks are accurate.

  • If you have any concerns, please see your Guidance Counsellor.

I haven’t been accepted yet…

  • Semester 1 Final marks will be transferred next week. This

will start to generate offers of admission.

  • Be aware that universities do not have to respond to your

application until May 29th , so don’t panic 

  • After the May 29th deadline www.ouac.on.ca will show all

programs still open at Ontario Universities.

  • Feb. 1st – was the deadline to apply to colleges. Programs fill

immediately after this date. www.ontariocolleges.ca will show all programs still open after the Feb. 1st deadline.

  • Does it matter what happens for the rest of the semester?
  • All offers are conditional and based on final grades.
  • Be aware of the conditions of the offer.
  • They will rescind the offer if you do not meet their

conditions (For example a 70% in ENG4U).

  • How do the colleges and universities get

my final grades?

  • Electronic transfer in mid July
  • If you are enrolled in Night school, e-learning, or any form
  • f independent study this year you must bring your final

mark to Guidance so that it is entered for the final transfer

  • f grades.

  • But I’m not ready to go…
  • Some universities will offer a deferral however you must

accept the offer prior to asking for a deferral. Always check with the university prior to making that final decision.

  • If you decide not to accept a college offer of acceptance,

you will have to reapply for the next intake. They do not defer offers.

Returning Grade 12s…

  • Thinking of returning to BR ?
  • Pick up a Returning Grade 12 Application in Student Services and return it

when completed to your Guidance Counsellor.

  • If approved by the Principal, you will be given an Option Sheet to select your
  • courses. You will NOT be choosing courses on myBlueprint. Courses must

be academic and support your pathway plan.

OR

  • Consider attending the Thomas Merton Centre for Continuing Education

located in Oakville. New location coming!
