How Carocell Solar Water Distillation Panel Works

Natures Own Process

  • Input Water (6 litres per hour/50 litres per day)
  • Contaminated water is input into the panel at the top of the unit
  • The internal black fabric controls the flow and spread of the water inside the panel:
  • Allows time for the heat inside to evaporate the water; and
  • Ensures the water is spread evenly across the panel for maximum

efficiency.

  • Condensation/Evaporation (Distillation)
  • Solar energy passes through the transparent polycarbonate upper sheet;
  • Heat inside the panel will range between 65-90 degree Celsius, causing:
  • Water to evaporate off the fabric (vapour); and
  • The vapour will condense on the inside of the transparent polycarbonate

sheets (distilled);

  • Panel Design Separates Distilled Water from Non-Distilled Water
  • Distilled water will run down the polycarbonate sheets into a pure water outlet at

the bottom of the unit.

  • Waste water will come flow down the fabric and come out a separate waste water
  • utlet at the bottom of the panel.

Simple Set Up – Ready to Use (20 mins)

  • Requirements:
  • Carocell Panel and Accessories;
  • Container/drum for source water (50 litres per panel);
  • Stand or Platform for the source tank (alternative is a winch pully system on a pole); and
  • Container to collect water
  • (Recommended the legs of the panel be secured to the ground)
  • Basic Set Up:
  • Source water drum is placed on a Tank Stand above the panel to feed the water by gravity.
  • One connecting pipe with a controlled flow is connected between the source water drum

and the panel (s)

  • The pure drinking water is outlet via a dedicated pipe in the corner of the panel;
